Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand

In the book of Matthew, John the Baptist is recorded saying,

“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 3:2, ESV

Jesus was coming and the kingdom of God was at hand; the kingdom of heaven was before him. Jesus knew that when he arose from the grave on the third day that judgement would come upon his people. He knew that he had a mission and a mandate here on Earth to fulfill prophesy, and to fulfill God’s will- God’s intentions for his plan.

Jesus knew that the only way to redeem oneself from judgement in the final days was to repent of one’s sin, accept Christ, and sin no more. For he knew this would be the final sting from what would separate man from his destined end. To turn away from sin and follow him (repent).

In Job the 2nd chapter, God tests Satan by proving to him that Job was not of him. He was God’s own, and God later commanded Job to repent of his sin.

In the book of Jonah, God commands Jonah to go to the city of Nineveh to have his people repent of their evil ways.

When the people of Nineveh “turned from their evil way, God relented of the disaster that he had said he would do to them, and he did not do it.” Jonah 3:10, ESV

You see, God is looking for you to turn from your evil ways and practices and follow his one and only son, so that the glory and the power that rests upon his shoulders (Christ’s shoulders)  will be given and bestowed unto you.

Do you believe in his power?

Sin not against him,

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:12, KJV

For we are not promised tomorrow, but we are promised forgiveness, grace, mercy, and righteousness when we turn from our evil ways (repent) and follow Christ.

God bless you.
